Kyee Myint Saw

Born in 1939

Kyee Myint Saw (ကြီးမြင့်စော; born 1939) is a painter from Myanmar. His paintings invoke the various hues of typical Myanmar colors under the tropical sun. Born in Yangon, Myanmar, in 1939, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics in 1966 and later earned a Master of Science degree.

Throughout his professional career, he served as a faculty member at the Yangon Arts and Science University and the Institute of Economics. Additionally, he held the position of President of the Arts Committee at the Institute of Economics twenty times between 1973 and 1998.

Kyee Myint Saw’s preferred mediums include Acrylic on Canvas and Oil on Canvas. His paintings often depict bustling market scenes, capturing the lively atmosphere and hidden depths of loneliness in each person. His talent lies in portraying light and shadows, whether from the sun or the blazing lights of a rainy night, creating vibrant and evocative artworks that reflect the spirit of Myanmar.
