Artist Hla Phone Aung was born in 1966, Sin Phyu Kyun Town, Myanmar. He studied under U Lun Gywe, U Kyaw Lay, U Mya Aye, U Thit Lwin Soe and U Hsay Yoe. Obtained Art Diploma Certificate in Painting, State School of Fine Art, Yangon (1991). He was a instructor, State School of Fine Art, Yangon (1993 – 1994). He participated in many arts group shows.
