Moat Thone is a Modern & Contemporary artist, and he was predominantly influenced by the 1970s. Conceptualism is often perceived as a reaction to Minimalism, and the dominant art movement of the 1970s, challenging the boundaries of art with its revolutionary features.

In Mutual Art’s artist press archive, Moat Thone is featured in In Myanmar, Loneliness Has No Place, and a piece from the Korea Times in September 2018. Moat Thone’s only verified exhibition was Om: Bagyi Aung Soe & others at Pansodan Gallery in Yangon in 2009.
